HealthySmiles Pet Dental is looking for a veterinarian to help launch our sedation dental program in South Florida. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape a new program with a friendly, collaborative team.
The pilot will begin with one or two four-hour shifts per week, typically 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., with flexibility in scheduling. We expect approximately 2–4 pets per week for straightforward sedation dental cases. The program will not include general anesthesia or complex extractions.
What you’ll do
- Help establish the program’s clinical protocols, equipment, supplies, and workflows.
- Coordinate medication and supply ordering with our current provider, MWI.
- Evaluate patients, determine appropriate cases and sedation plans, and provide veterinary oversight during sedation dental visits.
- Handle dental-related phone consultations and prescriptions when clinically appropriate and permitted under Florida law.
- Work closely with our team to provide thoughtful, compassionate care.
What we’re looking for
- An active Florida veterinarian license.
- Active DEA license.
- Experience with veterinary sedation and patient monitoring.
- Familiarity with Zenalpha, a protocol commonly used by our Texas veterinarian, is preferred.
- Sound clinical judgment and a collaborative, easygoing approach.
- A genuine love of dogs and a commitment to making each visit as comfortable as possible.
Compensation and benefits
- $150 per hour, with an expected minimum of $600 per scheduled day.
- Flexible schedule with no weekends.
- Mileage reimbursement for work-related driving and scrubs reimbursement.
- Opportunity to transition to a full-time role after the pilot. Full-time benefits include paid time off, sick and personal days, health, vision, and dental insurance, a 401(k), and more.
If you’d enjoy helping build a focused dental program with room to grow, we’d love to hear from you.
