LEAD Veterinary Assistant / Technician
Job Description
Park Lane Veterinary Hospital is looking for a dependable, hardworking, animal-loving person to join our team!
We are seeking someone who is comfortable and competent working around dogs and cats and who understands that veterinary medicine involves both the rewarding moments AND the not-so-glamorous ones.
What you’ll be doing:
- Anesthesia: Monitoring vitals, inducing/maintaining anesthesia, and managing recovery.
- Exam Rooms: Administering vaccines, client education, assisting the doctor.
- Laboratory: Performing in-house blood panels, fecals, urinalysis, and preparing lab specimens.
- Clinical Procedures: Placing IV catheters, drawing blood, calculating medication dosages, and taking X-rays.
- Surgical Assisting: Sterilizing instruments, prepping patients, and assisting veterinarian in surgery.
- Attention to detail for accurate dosing and record-keeping.
- Client communication for explaining discharge instructions and wellness plans.
- Patience and resilience when handling stressed or fractious animals.
You will be cross-trained for many aspects of the job

Veterinary experience is required for this position!

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
